How to Tour Whidbey and Camano Island by Bus.

Here are some tips to get started.

1: Get a schedule online at www.islandtransit.org or at libraries, ferry terminals or community centers.

2: Plan your trip to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, libraries or events.

3: Call 360-678-7771 to make sure your plan will run smoothly.

4: Get to your bus stop a few minutes early.

5: Wear something bright or wave a flashlight to flag down the bus as it approaches.

6: As you board, tell the driver where you want to go. They can help you make connections and get to the right place.

7: When you see your stop approaching, pull the cord near the top of the windows or press the yellow strip between windows to alert the driver.

8: Make sure you know where to stand to catch your return bus. If you’re unsure, ask the driver.

9: Gather your things, say Thank You, and disembark. If you want to cross the street, wait for the bus to pull away so you can see traffic in both directions.

Enjoy your trip!
