ANTI-DISCRIMINATION & HARASSMENT POLICY STATEMENT



Island Transit is committed to maintaining a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. The Agency strictly prohibits and does not tolerate unlawful harassment. Employees must refrain from engaging in any act that discriminates or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment against another employee because of a person's protected status. Protected status is defined as a person's race, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital, military or veteran status, pregnancy, religion, ethnic background, the presence of a physical, sensory, or mental disability, or any other basis prohibited by local, state or federal law.
